About Me

Suzanne Glickman: Choosing the right therapist is just as important as the decision to try therapy in the first place. Understanding the therapist you’re considering is the first step in building an important collaborative and healing relationship with someone you trust…

Here are some facts about me that you’ll find helpful and informative:
As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I help individuals, couples and families overcome challenges and experience better functioning relationships.

I earned my Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology in 2007, from John F. Kennedy University in San Francisco, California, and currently work in my own private practice in Los Angeles where I treat people for symptoms of emotional and psychological trauma. I specialize in anxiety, relationship problems and marital and family conflicts, and I love working with individuals, adolescents, couples and families alike.

My passion for healing also extends beyond my clinical practice and into the area of philanthropy, as I work as a volunteer psychotherapist at Camp Kesem, an amazing organization that provides summer camp experiences for children between the ages of 6 and 17 who have a parent coping with cancer. I don’t feel my work as a therapist would be truly complete without it.

In my therapy practice I utilize a holistic combination of techniques in order to help you overcome challenges and reach your goals with a comprehensive approach that takes multiple levels of each issue into account. Some of these include:

Mindfulness

This helps you foster self awareness and creates an ongoing practice you can use in your daily life, leading to sustained personal growth and progress.

Traditional Approaches

Cognitive, psychodynamic and attachment therapies aid you in gaining insight into your challenges and what’s caused them. This helps you replace negative patterns with positive ones.

Somatic Therapy

Somatic or body based theories help you understand yourself, your feelings and emotions by using your body and perceived sensations as a guide. This helps achieve even deeper levels of healing within the therapeutic process.

If you’re looking for a therapist that approaches your challenges with a multi-dimensional perspective that creates a safe, meaningful and productive therapeutic experience, contact me today for an appointment. I look forward to helping you.
